The ground begins to rumble and move beneath my feet. First thought that came to my mortal mind was that an earthquake was taking place; oh how wrong I was. The sky cracked open and began raining down fire and brimstone. Through the shrieks of my neighbors I began making way out of the path of what is to be the most certain disaster. It was when i rounded the corner that I had the greatest misfortune of my life. I was watching a fowl beast take his final step from a pit that had opened up into the street.

With every step this monster took the pavement melted at his feet and nothing behind him but decay and death. What would turn this godless beast and his destruction amongst the quiet and religious of my home of Rio De Janeiro. An area that stood god fearing and obedient above all else, was now being tested of their faith. This man like creature; this demon; made his way through the streets of our city killing with just a stare. Collecting souls of those who would stand against his kind.

Buildings crumble and the grass dies as he makes his way to the statue of our Lord that sat so peacefully upon the mountain. Then and only then does the demon begin to speak. I recall the sound of his shattering voice as it echoes beneath itself and his deathly bellow goes throughout the land. “I was sent here to teach you all a lesson. Though it may be through death! I am one of a legion; but I am many. You are nothing but the mice that run through the grass where the sheep and the wolf exist. By the days end, those of you left will bow to me.” After speaking these horrifying words the demon; still left nameless; turns and cast fire from his hands to the statue disfiguring it completely. He destroyed not only the statue at that moment but any hope that we had of an absolution.

The evil laugh and roar continued to pelt our ears as this demonic entity stood atop the mountain watching as our homes and life were destroyed. I fall to my knees in fear and am unable to move. A sudden calm overcomes my body as I arise from my feet. The words begin to pour from my lips as this force carries me towards this demon. I begin speaking these uncontrollable words as loud as possible as i near the demon spirit. “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. he maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth me beside still waters.” Over and over i begin reciting the complete passage of Psalms 23 verses 1-6. As I neared the monster atop of the mountain bellowing a laugh where our great statue once stood I speak loudly with intent.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Never before have I stood so proudly against anything. Knowing that it was this defining moment of my life that would carry me through. Then demon finally stopped their demonic laughter as he looked to me. “My name is Dracksus, and seeing you love your god so much; lets help you meet him.

The demon lifts his hand as it begins to glow with fire. The recurring laughter picks back up as if it is pollution to the air itself. “Time to die” the demon spoke so calmly. With my arms outreached to match that of my lord I begin shouting the passage in adversity of this demon whom I didn’t give the respect to call by his name. “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall no want. He maketh……
