Not Just Another Guy

It is no doubt that by now you have heard of the newest ArchAngel, Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous), if not well let me
have the pleasure of giving you the inside scoop to who this “Guy” is. Having the honor of interviewing Arch Guy and getting to know this gently “Guy” a bit more. His normal day to day appearance on the EC Sims he is almost always in casual wear, Jeans and a T-shirt. Seems befitting for just your average “guy” appearance, but what you might not know is that he is one of the newest selected to rise in the ranks within the Eternal Conflict: Angels & Demons Family.

Now the new Arch has the learning curve of being a good Arch as well as a mentor, leader, friend, and role model to
inspire new players with his daily interactions. More often than not you can find him hanging out on the EC Sims, it was
there a very long time ago I saw him pop in and make the apparently not so unique joke “Hey there Guy!” His humor and the ability to turn even the darkest cloud into a bright star makes even me have hope.

The Archangel of Wisdom sat with me and we talked about all those burning questions you had and sent in for me to ask. Now all of them had been amazing and not one of them had been dismissed.

I enjoyed the question on the EC Discord channel which went as follows:
Kaydro – I’d ask… what beer did he drink when he did blacksmithing?
Guy – lol. You can’t drink while forging. It’s a safety violation!

That was the look into what sort of half humor half honest answers I would be getting from him. With a large cup of coffee I eagerly awaited the arrival of the “Guy of the hour” which started out with a smart little comment and a hint of what was to end the interview. I was able to convince him to sit down at the Gem Cutting Table, while snapping a picture for the blog as to amuse those whom he is closest too.

After that we headed into the ballroom where we found emptiness where all the tables once stood, looking around in a
panic I found an empty spot for us to sit on the second floor. Where we started it all…

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): So… in the beginning… Prime Evil and the Empyrean
Reaper created A&D… Heaven and Hell… Then commons… (or whatever came first.. it was before my
time.) The question though.. is how did you first come to hear about the system?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): My introduction to A&D was kind of funny. I was dancing at Muddy’s
one day and a woman started talking to me, then out of the blue asked if I’d like to join a new game
involving Angels & Demons. It turns out she was a Cardinal and the next thing I knew I was being
transcended. That was in March 2015 and I’ve been active ever since.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis) nods “funny story… the person who introduced me to
the system I also met at Muddys”

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): Wow. That’s quite a coincidence!

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): It is.. Muddy’s is a hot spot for recruits I guess!
When you joined that glorious day did you ever think you would be sitting in the position you are in now as
an Arch of Wisdom?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): I never thought I’d have the privilege of holding the title Archangel of
Wisdom. I was just a guy who was (is) happy to be involved in what I believe is the best system in Second
Life. I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to be in this position.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis) nods and smiles “I can agree with you there… bias
thoughts on all the games within SL, A&D is by far the best”
So… Archangel of Wisdom. Enlighten us, what is Guy short for?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous) Laughs. It’s not short for anything. Do you know how you have to
pick a name when you join SL? Well, I was with a friend and didn’t want to keep them waiting so I just
used a name I’d used before, thinking “I can change it later.” Well… it turns out you can’t, so I’ve been
using it ever since. It’s funny though because Europeans pronounce it differently than people from
America, the UK and Australia do.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis) chuckles “That’s a rather unique way of standing out in
the crowd! I know when I first saw your name I shouted “Hey there Guy” do you get that sort of thing

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): Actually, I do I like the name because it almost invites that kind of
thing, and it’s helped me meet a lot of people over the years. Plus, there’s not a lot of guys named Guy
running around, though I do bump into them now and then on the grid.’

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): Are you heading out on the grid to fight when you meet
these other “false” guys?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous) Laughs at “false guys.” Although I have gone out hunting it’s not
something I do a lot. When I do it’s generally been with one or more others, though I’ve done my share of
sim hopping looking to see who’s out there. Generally, my fights happen like most others; land on the sim,
see a demon, and fight’s on! Some end better than others, lol

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): Did you set out to be an Arch or was it just a crazy
random happenstance?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): I never set out to be Arch. My daily goal was to be the best Angel I
could, especially when it came to helping other players. I’ve never cared what species a player belonged
to, I’ve always been happy to provide guidance and answer questions. So, I guess the answer is it was
the latter, though I doubt it was crazy or random on the Sators’ part, lol

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): Which Arch do you admire the most?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): I’ve admired Arch Zah-ney from long before she became an arch,
and she’s been a terrific mentor and friend since I got my appointment, providing insight and guidance to
me that I’m extremely grateful for. I can never thank her enough for helping me adjust to my new role.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): Arch Zah is one of my favorite Archangels! So I can
see how her wisdom is imparted on you.

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): before she was Arch I saw her mentor an angel that was struggling
and was impressed because it was exactly the kind of thing I like to do.
I’d like to add I’ve seen you do the same thing with new players, both Angels, and Demons.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): She has been always helpful no matter what side you
are on. She’s helped me a few times too and I’ve always listened to her words and taken them to heart.
Have you had a chance to speak to her since becoming an arch?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): I talk to her every day.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): Has she given you any new advice you want to share
with the readers?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): Gosh, that’s a hard question. She’s given me so much advice I’d be
hard-pressed to single out any single item to share.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis) nods “what do your close friends within the system think
of you becoming arch?”

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): They’re all happy for me, and they’ve all been supportive and
tolerant. My IMs blew up for two days after getting the appointment and they were all really good about
letting me answer them. My partner Ryder has been a real saint (or should I say, Angel, lol), and I’d like to
thank her here for putting up with the madness.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): Make sure you set time apart from all the crazy stuff to
be with her and show her how much she means to you. So I can’t stress that enough for either of you, she
must have a big heart and cares for you so much.
Back to the randomness of questions after a little shout out to your partner! Hey Ryder!
What was the hardest skill for you to master?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): Oh, good question! When they rolled out herbalism I hated it, but
then they rolled out alchemy and I hated THAT, but now we know they’re among the easiest. I’d have to
say the hardest was Blacksmithing. That skill just about broke me, lol. We didn’t have elixirs at the time,
and I think it took me several weeks working 3-4 hours a day to complete. The mining was (and still is)

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): That sounds painful! Players now have it easier with
the ability to drink elixirs to speed skilling up. I couldn’t imagine how long it would have taken me without

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): It’s still a very hard skill to finish even with elixirs. That ore doesn’t
mine itself lol.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis) nods and chuckles “unless you have amazing friends
who help out”
So… When you’re out on the grid what is your favorite spell to use?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): I’m kind of partial to energy bolts. They launch fast, do a decent
amount of damage, and don’t fizzle too often. We’ve all cast Flame Strikes and waited… and waited….
and then have them fizzle on us. They’re terrific when they land, though.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis) nods “those are my go-to spells, love them dearly! You
can cast at least two of them off in the time it takes to get mana back and the ability to cast again after
waiting what seems like FOREVER for it to shoot off.”
What is your biggest fear of being an Arch right now?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): Probably doing something stupid that unintentionally upsets or
offends people.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis) laughs “I think you will be just fine if that’s your biggest
What is something you want to change for the better within the system?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous) Laughs. I thought you said these questions would be easy! The first
thing I’d do is…I’d make cutting perfect diamonds easier. Okay, just kidding. I’d like to see better relations
among some players, but on the whole I think most people get along already. That’s kind of like the “I
want world peace” answer you hear in beauty pageants, but it’s what I can come up with right now.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): Now the final question for you… to close this off its a
random funny Q&A sit down with you today…
Now that you’re an Arch, how will you find time to work on those Perfect Diamonds?

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): Oh my god I almost spit out my coffee! I know exactly where that
came from, and I’m adding “I’m too busy doing Arch stuff” to my list of excuses for not doing them!
Thanks for that, lol.

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis) laughs and nods “I laughed hard when I was asked to
make that a question and wanted to close it all out with that. Good thing there’s always more coffee!”

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): Yes indeed!

ҍմղղíҽ ɑԵɾɑ ԵҽʍρҽsԵɑs (BunnieFrancis): Well thank you, Archangel Guy, for your time today, it
has been an honor and a very special privilege to get to know you a little better. I hope that you reign with
all the imparted wisdom from the Archangels and Archdemons before you.

Guy Ketori (GuyGarrulous): Thank you Bunnie. It was a pleasure to be here and be interviewed
by you!
